Bartender Jobs – A way to earn some quick money Part - 2

Whereas mixing drinks doesn’t seem like a challenging job, it does require a lot of expertise. You will need outstanding communication skills to deal with customers and math skills to add up the tab for each & every customer and quickly hand back the appropriate amount of change. Sometimes you will also have to work with other staff members behind the bar, particularly when there is a huge crowd around the bar area.

A great bartender is someone who can stay serene and poised under any difficult situation and who can keep a smile on his face, no matter how his mood is. If you are still concentrating on making some extra money with bartending, make sure to find a good training institute to prepare for it. Search for a short term course in a good college that will train you how to mix a wide variety of drinks in a very short period of time.

Those who don’t attend a reputed bartending school are likely to have a more difficult time finding a nice paying job, since restaurants and bars are looking for people who already know how to mix their drinks, what type of tools need to be used, and who recognize that different drinks require different kind of glasses.

If you can’t go school, the next approach that could be the best substitute is to work as a barback. This position supports the bartender and will allow you to observe and learn all the needed skills for the changeover into a bartender yourself. One can start out with waiter waitress jobs as well.
